GUARDIOLA SAYS KEVIN DE BRYUNE'S INJURY IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT

Pep Guardiola has insisted that his team can progress without the services of injured Kevin De Bryune – The Manchester City boss rues his absence claims that the team will have to keep going without his services – Guardiola becomes the first manager after Carlo Ancelotti to win his first six opening EPL match of the season Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has insisted that his team can cope without their injured star man Kevin De Bryune. The Belgian international was substituted in City’s 3 – 1 win over Swansea City after pulling up an hamstring strain that will keep him out for up to four weeks.

Guardiola believes City will fare well without De Bryune Guardiola has confirmed that the attacking midfielder will miss City’s upcoming matches against Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Celtic. “Its a pity this has happened because Kevin [De Bruyne] is an important player for us,” Guardiola said. “Kevin is not going to play the next games and now we need to keep going and win the games without him.”We have to do that.” De Bryune’s participation in the long awaited Champions League cracker with Barcelona on October 19 has casted doubts over his availability for the match. City’s sixth successive Premier League win against the Swans means that Guardiola is the first manager to win his opening six games since Chelsea’s boss Carlo Ancelotti in 2009/10 where he went on to win the league and cup double. However the Spaniard refused to dwell on his teams’ winning streak and insisted that his side are still very much a work in progress despite The Citizens’ consecutive wins. He added: “We are far away – otherwise it would be boring. If we were close, then I could just go back home. Manchester City are the only team in the Premier League with a 100% record with 18 points out of a possible 18.
